The Cottage
The cottage was extensively renovated in 2024 and the interior was designed to provide modern comforts whilst preserving the history of the building. Offering a garden and plenty of sea views, Loop Head Lighthouse Attendant’s Cottage is 17 km from Carrigaholt Towerhouse and 27 km from Kilkee Golf And Country Club. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking, pet-free, and is situated just 100 metres from Loop Head Lighthouse.
The cottage is composed of 3 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and 1 bathroom. A flat-screen TV is available in the cosy sitting room.
The nearest airport is Shannon Airport, 99 km away.
The Facilities
The cottage is fully-equipped with: hob, oven, kettle, toaster, dish washer, fridge with small freezer, television, cooking utensils and equipment, towels and linen, washing machine and dryer.
Please note:
- As there are cliffs nearby, children must be supervised at all times. Pets must be kept on a lead. You should also be aware that there can be very strong winds in the area. Please stay away from the edges of the cliffs during your visit, particularly with children and dogs.
- We are currently unable to allow pets to stay overnight in the cottage.
- While the lighthouse station is quite remote, Kilbaha village (3 miles away) offers a pub/restaurant), while Cross (7 miles) and Carrigaholt (10 miles) have small convenience stores. Carrigaholt also boasts a Post Office, 2 pubs, a restaurant and a take away. More extensive facilities can be found in Kilkee and Kilrush.
- It is our aim to reduce energy consumption at the property, and we encourage all guests to reuse, reduce and recycle.
- There are two 5ft double beds. The third bedroom has a 4ft bed and a futon.
- The property is in the compound of the Lighthouse and from July to September complementary guided tours of the Lighthouse are included in the price.
